FAQ’s

Listed below are Wallpaper FAQ'S:

1) How is your work printed?

We print all our wallcoverings using the latest Mimaki solvent printer set up to use genuine Mimaki inks used alongside custom Icc profiles to ensure excellent colour ranges and absolute quality.

2) Will my print look exactly like the one I see on my screen?

As every monitor displays colours differently, and because colour displayed on a monitor is fundamentally different to colour produced by ink, it's impossible to ensure that your print will look exactly like the version you see on your monitor.

However, our printing process is colour-managed from start to finish, using advanced monitor calibration techniques and bespoke custom printer profiles to ensure that our colours are rendered accurately and consistently every single time. We can also send you test proofs in the post for you to approve before we print your finished image.

3) What material do you use?

Unlike any other product, our material both meets and supersedes industry regulations, boasting a tried and tested 'Class O' as defined in Building Regulations 1991, and 'Class 1' to BS476 part 7. This means that it is suitable for use in public and commercial premises. It is available in a range of finishes including Smooth, a satin non-textured finish, and Tactile, an embossed linen-effect finish with a 410gsm wide-width fabric-backed printing base.

4) Who installs the wallcovering?

Off The Wall Creations have a full installation service, we have a team of experienced, qualified and accredited installers who can undertake your new bespoke digital wallcovering. Installation with one of our registered fitters entitles the customer to a full guarantee against any damage to the image during the installation. We supply a full list of fitting instruction with every order.

8) What image can I use?

You can use any photograph, but if it is a digital file it has to be at least 1.5 mb. But there are ways around smaller files so don't be put off, just contact us to discuss the options. All normal artwork formats are acceptable. Images should ideally be 200 - 300 dpi quarter size for best results.

If you have not yet sourced an image, or are just looking for ideas you may find it useful to search an internet-based image library. Images can be purchased direct from these libraries. We can of course help with sourcing, and will always check suitability of an image for you.

For general pictures, and good all round choice, we recommend the following:
Shutterstock – www.shutterstock.com
Getty Images – www.gettyimages.com
Foto Search – www.fotosearch.com

For panoramic images we recommend:
www.wideimages.com

Whether we source the image for you, or you provide the image, we normally have to tweak the picture a bit here and there to ensure it fits the wall. We do not charge for this. However any images from online libraries must be Royalty Free and applicable charges will be passed on.

However, if we need to carry out extensive manipulation on the image, there may be additional artwork charges.

9) Will you crop my image?

We will do everything possible to ensure that cropping won’t occur but unfortunately this isn’t guaranteed. We will notify customers in these circumstances and a proof will be provided prior to printing.

10) Can I see a proof before printing?

On receipt of artwork, we provide two samples for approval; one sample is a portion of the full size image, to show print quality and colour; the second sample shows a mini version of the complete image.

We can also arrange for member of our sales team to call with you and display a projected image of the artwork on the wall that you wish to cover. This is an excellent way of proofing an image prior to printing. We are one of a limited number of companies who offer this service, which allows us to ensure that our customers get exactly what they want.
